Now, this was a happy village until their biggest problem raised its ugly head. One day, they ran out of food. Now I know I said they had plenty of food, and that was true, but the little village wasn’t a little village any more. It was growing and growing and growing! They didn’t know why, maybe it was because the road wasn’t very good or maybe it was because the food source was 20 km away but they needed to fix it soon otherwise they would starve.
One day the mayor of the city had an idea. “Maybe we can fix the roads and it might go faster so you can bring more food back.” she said. So they tried that, but fixing a 20 km road took a while so it wasn’t ready until 2 days later. But it didn’t work. Although, it did make it go faster but that still doesn’t make more food to come back. It didn’t have enough horses or wagons.
On top of a hill surrounding the little village there was a cave and inside that cave there was……. a dragon! Her name was Martha. Now this news might alarm you but Martha was a very kind dragon and it was friends with the villagers. And so (as usual) She had a plan.( And a very good one too.)
Martha’s plan was that she would fly them to the food place and back. “Good idea” Said the mayor of the city. “But, It’s the same problem all over again. You may be going faster but you can’t bring any more food back.” “Hahaha” Said Martha. “I have a much bigger carriage than all yours combined. So I guess I can bring more food back.
Guess what? Her plan worked! Her flying Chariot was much bigger than all of the Villager’s chariots together. And even better she was a dragon! So they did not need any horses she could fly! Could bring back 12 times more food than they did 4 days ago.
So the little village surrounded by mountains was saved and they never ran out of food again. And they even let Martha live in a huge castle in thanks to what she did for them. Oh and by the way, the little cave that Martha used to live in was used for storage now. Martha let them have it because she was too big for it anyway. So they live a long and happy life all of the people in the little village and the pets and Martha.
